Our
History
Visual
arts in South Florida took a giant leap forward with the formation
of 2+3, the Artists' Organization. In 1986 local artist Tin
Ly, with the support of the late Duane Hanson, internationally
renowned sculptor and ultimately the group's advisor, combined
their efforts with the Broward Cultural Affairs Council and
invited 39 award-winning, professional artists to establish
2+3, the Artists' Organization. The shared philosophy of this
newly formed group was to grow the awareness of visual arts
in South Florida as well as offer a supportive environment to
member artists.
The
name 2+3 denotes two- and three-dimensional artwork. From abstract
to impressionism, realism, and surrealism; from installations
to paintings, photography and sculpture, 2+3 exemplifies creative
excellence in nearly all disciplines and media.
An
abbreviated list of exhibitions showcasing the work of 2+3 members

2+3
believes that our environment can be enhanced visually through
the Arts. The process of tapping into the intuitive and making
art is a powerful tool for change. As such, to engage as many
people as possible in experiencing their "creative zone,"
2+3 mandates its members to outreach within the community. Some
of the group's outreach projects are listed below:

Children's
Diagnostic Treatment Center, Ft. Lauderdale, FL
(Weekly & monthly creative sessions with children and their

a variety of topics. Presentations from a diverse population
of artists, critics, gallery owners, historians, grant experts,
psychologists, inventors and other professionals outside the
organization add to broadening the scope of our membership.
