Daughter of an artist, Rolande Reverdy Moorhead was born and raised in France. She organizes and conducts art workshops in a different region of her native country every year.

A realistic painter in watercolor, oil and acrylic, she is as comfortable portraying the drama of the high seas in a storm, or the softness of a flower petal, as she is in nudes, still life, or the nostalgia and history of American and African artifacts. Regardless of medium, Rolande captures the essence of her subjects as in her stirring large canvases depicting wars. Her portraits receive praise for reflecting the soul of the subject.

Moorhead teaches, serves as juror, gives lectures, demonstrations and workshops. In 1986, she authored an art manual to assist teachers of handicapped students. Another challenging phase of her career is in art restoration.

The artist has paintings in many national and international collections including Club Med and two French cathedrals. She is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in the World.
