Sculptor, painter, printmaker, the award-winning artist, Evelyn Mitchell, transfers magical images into wood sculpture. She is internationally acknowledged and part of many museum, corporate, public and private collections, including the Noyes Museum of Art, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Miami Dade Library System, Mount Mercy College, Pittsburgh Board of Education, Pittsburgh National Bank, the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and PPG Industries.

She has had eleven solo shows and has a forty-year history of exhibitions. At the age of nine the young artist. granddaughter of a cabinet maker, was awarded her first scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago. She went on to teach for fourteen years at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and nine years at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

Evelyn Mitchell has been recognized since 1998 in Who's Who of American Women and her bio will be included in the twenty-third edition of Who's Who of American Women in 2003. Visitors are invited to her studio and the artist welcomes commissions of her work.
