Sybil Ross Kleiman is an award-winning local and national artist whose larger-than-life genre paintings have been favorably received by both art critics and the public-at-large. In June 1999 her retrospective show at the Coral Springs Art Museum in Coral Springs, FL received outstanding reviews.

Kleiman is a graduate of Adelphi College, and received her MS degree in Art Education at Hofstra University. She taught in the New York public schools and for the Board of Cooperative Educational Services Cultural Art Center for close to ten years, where she was supervisor for the Art Program. She also taught art history as an adjunct professor at Adelphi.

“My work represents a slice of American life. I use larger-than-life figures in candid poses to create contemporary genre paintings that speak of the human condition in today's society. The size allows the viewer to have a sense of deja vu and to feel part of the painting."
